Azamara Cruise Line Fleet
Azamara is a relatively new cruise line that was founded in 2007 as a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean, which recently sold the line to a New York-based private equity firm. Azamara is an upscale cruise line featuring only three relatively small ships. The Azamara Quest, Azamara Journey, and Azamara Pursuit have limited capacities of around 700 passengers each. The ships’ smaller sizes offer the opportunity to call at some lesser-visited ports, and the atmosphere on the ships is a bit more intimate than on typical cruise lines.
Azamara cruises are advertised as immersive luxury experiences offering friendly, club-like atmospheres. Azamara ships can navigate closer to many destinations, such as Bangkok, Bordeaux, and Hong Kong, while mega-sized cruise ships are forced to dock much further away owing to their enormous size. We have successfully handled and resolved numerous injury cases against Azamara cruises, both on behalf of injured passenger and crewmembers.
Types of Cruise Ship Accidents We Handle
While it’s not fun to think about, the reality is that accidents and injuries can and do occur on cruise ships. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, between 2005 and 2011, over 100 million passengers traveled on cruise ships. Since 2005, there have been over 400 major cruise ship accidents reported. Sixteen people were reported killed in cruise ship accidents between 2005 and 2011, and over 300 people have fallen overboard. Unfortunately, even luxury cruise ships like Azamara ships have the potential for numerous types of accidents and injuries to occur.
Cruise ship passengers may fall victim to slip and falls or trip and falls due to hazards on ship walkways and dangerous conditions like wet decks. Guests may fall overboard or drown in ship pools. Rapes and sexual assaults frequently occur on cruise ships, as well as other crimes committed against passengers. Since 1971, we have successfully handled more than 3,000 cases and so we have literally seen it all. Over the course of our 50 years of service we have fought tirelessly on behalf of each of these clients.
Some of the types of cruise ship passenger injury cases we handle include:
- Cruise ship passenger injuries
- Crewmember injuries
- Cruise ship rape and assault
- Passenger disappearances
- Passenger overboard accidents
- Passenger drowning incidents
- Shore excursion injuries
- Cruise ship medical malpractice
